Natalie was delighted to join a panel of expert speakers for an event organised by the Progress Educational Trust to discuss family building for the LGBTQ+ community, during Pride.
Other speakers included Kate Osborne MP (Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Fertility), Dr Carolyn Wilson-Nash (Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Retail at the University of Stirling), Dr Jennifer Takhar (Associate Professor of Consumer Culture at Côte d’Azur University), Michael Johnson-Ellis (Cofounder of My Surrogacy Journey and of Ethica Fertility), Dr Susie Bower-Brown (Principal Investigator at the ‘Family Beyond the Binary’ research project) and Dr Chloe He (Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University College London).
Natalie spoke about transgender parenthood, highlighting the injustice of the recent High Court decision in FZ v MZ (2025) and what it means for transgender parents creating families and the fertility clinics supporting them. Her talk was a call to action for the fertility community and its professional organisations to stand together in demanding that children born to transgender parents are afforded the same legal security by the law as all other children.
